 Yes! you heard / read / dreamt right...... CAMP IS ON!
FAMSY is exhilarated to finally announce that inshAllah we will be holding our stupendous camp once again, for both male & female youth over 17 (segregated). The three day camp will run from - Fri 29th to Sun 31st of Jan 2010.
This year, we've chosen the YMCA Yarramundi site, which has long been one of Sydney’s premier camp destinations. It is located just over an hour from the Sydney CBD on the banks of the heritage listed Grose River.
InsAllah there will be 8 challenging activities which include; Abseiling, rock climbing, alpine rescue, archery, canoeing, giant swing, high ropes course and orienteering.
This camp is a must-attend for anyone interested in a physical challenge and at the same time wanting to benefit Islamically and feel the bond with their fellow brothers and sisters.
This year we will be taking a ‘back to the basics’ approach, with the central theme of the camp being, ‘Salah: The Nocturnal Ascent’. There will be a holistic approach towards prayer taken, with an emphasis to revive Salah once again to the core of our lives.
We will also be delighted with the presence of our esteemed guests. Br Ahmed El Shrif, Br Siddiq Buckley and Br Benyameen Issa, will enlighten us with their stories, workshops and thought provoking debates.
Alhamdulilah the feedback from last year’s camp was rather positive and we will guarantee that all attendees will thoroughly enjoy themselves!
