Grand Iftaar & Ramadan Challenge 1430H

 

3 Sept, Adelaide - Grand Iftar @ Campus Ramadan 1430H was successfully held at Adelaide University with attendance of approximately 160 students and youth. The event was organized by FAMSY SA in collaboration with the Multicultural Youth Education Support Services Limited (MCYESS), Islamic Student Society, University of Adelaide (ISSUA) and Human Appeal International.

Before breaking fast, Sheikh Abu Obaida gave tazkeerah(reminder) about Ramadan to all the students. He stressed that the acts of worship during Ramadan should be to the best level and to increase the worship to Allah through solat, Qiyamullail, reading Quran and studying hard.

Alhamdulillah, thank to Allah SWT the sponsors provided the guests with pizza and briyani rice.

Human Appeal also took part in promoting their Ramadan Projects; feeding the fasting, zakat al-fitr and eid clothing sponsorship through playing the montage of the needy and the poor. Majority of the guests seemed very sympathetic and donated to the projects.

"We will organize iftar next year with more great sponsors and more interactive activities, Insha Allah", said Brother Muttalip, the Chairman of MCYESS.

After dinner, the guests performing  Isyak and Tarawikh prayer at the Uni Adelaide Musolla lead by Bro Azmi, President of ISSUA. Short Tazkeera also took place after the Tarawikh prayer.

Ramadan Challenge

The Ramadan Challenge 1430H is a competititon open to all students and youth. The competition was aimed in developing the awareness about Islamic knowledge and to encourage all participants to be active in the month of Ramadan. It was also held during the Grand Iftaar @ Campus event.


A number of participants took part and these are the winners of Ramadan Challenge Ramadan 1430H:

1. Nabil Zainuudin- Adelaide University
2. Ummu Abd Rahman - Adelaide University
3. Ummu Abrar - Adelaide University
4. Khansa' - Adelaide University
5. Hanisah - Islamic College of South Australia

All winners received cash prizes of $25 for first place; $10 for second place and $5 for third, forth and fifth places.

We are very excited to continue this competition next year with greater prizes, Insha Allah.
